20/07 Weekly Update

Winchester City Neighbourhood Policing Team Weekly Update

- The city has had a high number of footfall this weekend due to the Foodies Festival. A number of us attended the festival over the weekend to ensure that the event ran smoothly and safely for everyone involved. We are happy to report that there were no major issues despite our officers being advised a number of times that the people on stage were (The) Wanted! (Pictured below is PCSO Window at the Foodies Festival)

- You may have seen a number of our officers at the train station on Friday night dealing with an incident. We would like to reassure the public that this was an isolated incident and a male has been arrested for assault. We have since handed this over to our colleagues from the British Transport Police.

- Following an incident where an assault and a theft of a bike took place, PCSO Parker’s keen eye was able to locate the stolen bike which has since been reunited back with its owner. These incidents are currently under investigation by PC Croxton.

- Finally, we sadly had to say goodbye to PC Stevens this weekend as he leaves our team following a promotion to become a Police Sergeant at another team. He has been working in and around Winchester since 2003, and he will be greatly missed by everyone here. We wish him the best of luck with this exciting opportunity and a new chapter in his career! (P.S. He still owes us cakes!)
